Rules of the Road
Drivers must be over the age of 25. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and must pass a DMV verification before the trip begins.
You’re free to travel anywhere in the continental U.S. and Canada, as long as you adhere to our Terms & Conditions. If you’re using your own insurance, you must verify that your policy covers the rental in states outside of Colorado and Canada.
Even though our Jeep campers are more suitable for getting off the beaten path and exploring more remote places, driving off-road is still at your own risk. Our insurance options do not cover accidents that occur when driving off of state or county maintained roads.
We enforce a strict NO OFF-ROADING policy.
This includes rock crawling, dune driving, and moderate-to-difficult 4×4 trails.
Driving on unpaved roads (excluding state- and county-maintained roads), restricted areas, and “off road” areas with an Overland Discovery vehicle is not allowed. Taking any of our rental vehicles on non-maintained dirt roads, restricted areas, or off-road areas will violate the insurance and vehicle warranties.
If you travel into a restricted area and get stuck or encounter a maintenance issue you are responsible for any expenses related to the damage (vehicle, tires, and windshield, etc,), as well as towing charges and any additional expenses related to getting the rental vehicle back onto paved roads.
Smoking of any kind is not allowed in any of our rental vehicles or roof top tents. No exceptions!
A $500 fee will be charged if we find any evidence of smoking inside the vehicle or tent.
Please keep all smoking (cigarettes, vaping, and other recreational substances) outdoors and within the restrictions of the law.
Although we love furry friends, we only allow pets on a case-by-case basis. This is to ensure the cleanliness of our vehicles and accommodate allergy-sensitive renters. If you would like to bring your furry companion along, please contact us and we’ll walk you through our pet policy.
If your request is approved, we will send a Pet Addendum for you to sign and will add a non-refundable $100 pet fee to your reservation.
Restrictions: You must advise us of your pet in writing, before departure.
- One small domesticated dog, 50lbs or less, or service animal is allowed. (No cats…sorry)
- DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET UNATTENDED IN THE CAMPER.
- If you decide to leave the camper with your pet inside, your pet must be kept in a cage. Your pet may not have “free-roaming” of the camper while you are away.
- Your pet is not allowed on ANY of the furniture in the vehicle. This includes seats, beds, sofas, dinette, tables, and rooftop tents.
- We recommend bringing along a travel carrier and a seat protector to ensure the vehicle stays clean and your pet is comfortable.
And remember, bringing along your pet does not mean you can leave the camper full of dog hair. When the camper is returned, we should not see or smell any signs that there was ever an animal inside. Excessive cleaning charges will be billed at a flat rate of $500.
Rental Pick Up and Drop Off Times, Location & Requirements
You will pick up & drop offs your rental vehicle at our headquarters at 1830 W 64th Lane, Unit A, Denver CO 80221. We’re conveniently located between I-76 and I-36 in North Denver, giving you a headstart on your journey into the mountains.
- Distance from Denver International Airport: 25 miles
- Distance from Denver Union Station: 6 miles
Rental pick Ups & drop offs are by appointment only, and are available Monday – Saturday from 9am-5pm MST. Sundays are open for DROP OFFS ONLY.
Rental vehicle pick up is in the afternoon, and vehicle return is in the morning:
- Pick Ups: 2PM – 5PM
- Returns: 9AM – 11AM
Requesting an “early pick up” allows you to pick up your rental as early as 9AM on your pickup date, for half the nightly rate.
Requesting a “late drop off” allows you to drop off your rental as late as 5PM on your return date, for half the nightly rate.
You must pick up or drop off. your rental vehicle during rental hours (Monday – Sunday, 9AM – 5PM). We can arrange services outside business hours upon special request.
Before returning your rental vehicle to use, please make sure to take care of the following:
- Full tank of gas
- Clean or “near clean” condition (no excessive mud, dust, debris)*
- Remove all personal items & trash
- Report all damage to our team
*If the rental vehicle is covered in thick mud or dirt, please rinse it off at a manual car wash. Don’t drive through an automatic car wash.
A fee will charged if your rental is returned without meeting the above conditions. Fees may vary depending on the amount of time/ labor required to restore the vehicle back to our standards.
All pick up & drop off times must be coordinated with us before you head out on your adventure. If you’re running late to pick up or drop off your rental, please give us a call or text us to let us know as soon as possible. We understand things happen, and will do our best to accommodate your request.
However, if you fail to inform us that you’re running late for a pick up or drop off, we’ll assess a $25 late fee for every hour beyond your arranged pick up or drop off time.
Unfortunately not — due to airport regulations, we do not offer transportation services to and from the airport. Most of our out-of-town customers hop in an Uber or Lyft to make their way to our office.
Yes, absolutely! Camping can be done all year round and our campers are the perfect basecamp for all types of winter activities! Winter set up per vehicle type:
- Jeep Campers: There are two options in the winter:
- Camping Package– Our standard set up which includes rooftop tent & camping gear
- Ski Package– We’ll remove the camping gear so you have more trunk space and swap out the rooftop tent for a ski rack (upon request)
- Campervans: We’ll provide snow chains, portable heater, and sleeping bags for free!
- Compact RVs- Our RVs have built-in heaters to keep you warm! We’ll provide snow chains free of charge. Note, however, our RVs are “winterized” from mid-October to late March. This means the vehicle will not have running water — You will not be able to use the sink, shower, and toilet during winter months.

Vehicle Rental Insurance
Before you take off on your next adventure, you will need insurance for your vehicle rental with Overland Discovery. There are two options when choosing insurance for your rental:
You can purchase insurance directly from our provider, MBA Choice Insurance, for $20 – $30 per day (price based on the vehicle’s value).
If you choose this option, we’ll email you the instructions for purchasing the policy a week before your trip. Note that this policy is only available within 7 days of your pick up date, and cannot be purchased at an earlier date.
- State Statutory Limits of Liability
- Uninsured and/or Underinsured Motorists
- Medical Payments or Personal Injury Protection as required by state law
- Comprehensive and Collision with a $2,500 per occurrence deductible
How to Purchase Insurance Directly Through Our Insurance Provider:
- Go to www.mbachoice.com
- Enter our policy number 303221 and verify Overland Discovery as your “dealer”
- Enter the last 6 digits of the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), which can be found on your reservation
- Enter all trip and personal info.
- Print and sign Certificate of Insurance. Send signed copy to our office via email.
Please be sure to read and understand MBA Choice Insurance terms and conditions. You will be given the option to purchase Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) during the purchase of your MBA Choice insurance. This increases the third party liability protection coverage to a maximum of $1,000,000.
If your personal insurance extends coverage to a camper, RV, and/or modified vehicle, you can use this insurance for your rental. Please note our vehicles are considered “conversions,” “modified vehicles,” or RVs. Not all insurance companies cover these types of rentals.
Contact your insurance agent, and if you have the correct coverage, they will provide a binder or endorsement for your rental.
IMPORTANT: AN INSURANCE BINDER IS REQUIRED. We cannot accept a copy of your policy or declarations page as proof of coverage.
If you choose this option, please request a Binder Request Form from our team to send to your insurance company. This document will have all the requirements for the Binder and/or Endorsement paperwork.
Please note that your insurance must be full coverage to include comprehensive, collision and liability. The limits of liability shall be at least the minimum limits required by any applicable compulsory or financial responsibility law. Any deductibles shall not exceed $500.00. Overland Discovery must be added to your policy as a “Loss Payee” and “Additional Insured”.
While our Essential and Peace of Mind insurance packages already include Roadside Assistance, you can add Roadside Assistance to your rental when using your own insurance or our Basic Insurance Package. Coach-Net’s RV Vacation Care Package ensures you with peace-of-mind protection.
Coverage includes unlimited:
- Flat Tire Assistance
- Battery Boost
- Mobile Mechanic
As part of the program, you’ll also be able to make calls into a 24/7 RV Technical Support Hotline to answer questions about the camper and its functionality (e.g. How to connect power supply, How to use leveling jacks, etc.)
Coach-Net also offers personal trip planning services to help you find and reserve a spot in the nearest RV park. They can even source great local restaurants for you!
Mileage, Mechanical Issues & More
- All rentals include 100 miles / night free.
- Excess mileage is charged at the following rates: $0.35/mile (first tier), $0.79/mile (second tier), and $1.25/mile (third tier). A tier is 100 miles/night.
- Example: A 7-night trip gets 700 free miles, the next 700 miles are billed at $.35/mile, the next 700 billed at $.79 and the next 700 at $1.25.
- Note, most rentals fall within the first (free) or second tier (.35).
Our minimum rental period is 3 nights. Reservations under our minimum rental periods are allowed, but will be charged at the minimum rental period rate.
Yes, we can add roadside assistance to your reservation any time before you leave for your trip. We highly recommend adding roadside assistance to your rental, as it will help you in case of a flat tire, dead battery, towing, etc. Roadside assistance is just $10/day.
We encourage all renters to utilize a professional roadside assistance program to assist with flat tires and other mechanical issues during your trip. If you have your own roadside assistance program, you’re responsible for confirming coverage during the rental period.
You’re welcome to add our roadside assistance package to your reservation any time before your trip begins (as outlined in the section above).
Please note that if you choose to perform tire or mechanical service yourself, Overland Discovery is not liable for any damage caused to you or the vehicle.
Payment, Security Deposit & Cancellation Information
We accept reservations online, by email, or over the phone. We require a 25% deposit to secure your rental.

We accept all major debit and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club and American Express). No personal checks or cash accepted. When using an international card, you may be charged an additional 3% transaction fee.
To reserve your rental, we only require a 25% deposit. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your trip start date.
Please note, the remaining balance will be automatically charged to the card on file. If you need to change your payment method or card, please inform us prior to the 7 day cut-off so we can update our records.
The security deposit is due one (1) day before your trip start date and will be returned 7 days after your reservation ends, pending no issues. The same card will be used to charge the security deposit unless otherwise noted during the reservation process.
We require a security deposit of $1,000–$2,000 to cover any potential damage to the rental vehicle and/or equipment. Your security deposit is due one (1) day before your trip start date and will be refunded upon the safe return of your rental vehicle.
Note, we may hold the security deposit for up to 7 days while we assess the vehicle condition. It may take 3-5 business days for the security deposit refund to be processed by your bank.
The reservation deposit (25% of full trip cost) is non-refundable.
If you’ve paid in full and the booking is canceled more than 7 days prior to your rental start date, a partial refund of 75% of the full rental amount (minus fees) will be issued.
If you cancel your trip less than 7 days prior to booking start date, a partial refund of 50% of the total rental amount (minus fees) will be issued.
